It seems I am finished proofing and that the book will be coming out relatively soon. It was a lot of fun to read and I hope you like it too.

It also looks like at least one other person knows what I’m talking about: http://egyptology.blogspot.com/2010/04/new-book-swimmers-in-sand.html,

and it’s going to be available at Amazon.

MUP/Erasmus

So now Erasmus at MUP wants in. They want me to look at their Student Guide, too.

Just keep working and see who else comes a callin’.

Signed a contract with MUP, Dept. of International Relations and European Studies yesterday. Here’s hoping we see a lot more business in the future. Nice people, really. Here they are…

Wow! It’s been a year and true to their word they want me to have a look at some of the papers they are looking to publish in English.

Wants me to do some work. Can’t wait to read it.

Coming Soon!

Meanwhile, get some background info here, here, and here.

So now the film is heading to the U.S. and the DVD is on its way to getting pressed.

Just a few more finishing touches before it reaches you.

CVUT

With every new job, a post.

Czech Technical University has asked me to edit a paper on coal refinement, rather interesting reading given the current disaster in the U.S.

Jan Palach

Just finished the text for the Jan Palach exhibition at Charles University.

Here’s a link to recent news report of what the exhibition is about.

Just got back from the premiere (my first, yes) and it was quite a scene. Wherever there is free food and drink people do tend to get pushy, or maybe it’s just the cameras and the opportunity for that 15 minutes.

Regardless, the movie is quite good and the audience reaction (concentrated attention punctuated by sharp laughter, the frequent gasp of amazement and an almost constant conversational murmur between guests) was probably indicative of such a film in this part of the world right now.

Oh, and should I mention that I helped with the English subtitles?
